Installing stuff without the Xcode CLT brew sh # or: eval $(brew -env) gem install ronn # or c-programs This imports the brew environment into your existing shell; gem will pick up the environment variables and be able to build.

Home-brew is the powerful package manager (such as PPA/SNAP) for Macintosh.

Legacy way is to install Xcode (5+Gb) first and then install Brew, but it’s not the only way to do it. You can install it by installing the Command-Line developer tools of Xcode and install brew.

Install Xcode From Command Line

This will install the necessary CLI tool

Xcode

then install Brew by running the following command

Brew Xcode

and install Cask which gives you more options for the applications.

Brew Xcodegen
