Tragedy struck the London Marathon on Sunday when MasterChef contestant Matt Campbell collapsed and died less than four miles from the end.
Matt's friend Tom Peters, whom he met when they were both contestants on the show, was running with the 29-year-old before he fell ill.
Tom gave Sky News a heartbreaking first-hand account of what he experienced on the day.

It was all very confusing, there were 40,000 people there and Matt was quite far ahead of me in the race.
We all knew it was going to be a very hot day, and people kind of adjusted their goals for that reason.
I was suffering from quite a bad injury at the time. I had injuries to both my knees in fact, so I was about half an hour behind Matt.
When we finished I thought it was quite strange that I hadn't heard anything from him, because we were planning to meet up at the finish and go somewhere to grab food together.
More from Opinion
I just put it down to the fact that all the mobile phone signals and stuff had jammed because there was so many people.
I left it an hour or so before I started calling him again and again but I never got through.
During the marathon I had seen lots of people get stretchered off and lots of runners had been taken ill.
There was so much of that I didn't think too much of not hearing from Matt.
I thought that because the conditions of the day were very tough he might not have been feeling too well.
Matt was a very talented runner and I knew he was trying to complete the marathon in less than three hours.
I thought maybe he'd taken it a bit too hard and was suffering from dehydration or something.
After the race I went back to my house in Canada Water in London and got myself ready to go and meet some friends.
It was then that I received a call from his brother.
He told me Matt had suffered a heart attack and hadn't made it through.
I was in complete disbelief, I could not process what he told me at all.
It didn't seem real, it doesn't seem real now.
He had so much going for him, so much planned, we had so much planned together.
It didn't seem real at all.
I'm still in disbelief really, it's so sad.
I didn't sleep at all Sunday night or Monday night.
Since Wednesday I've been slowly starting to come to terms with it, and have been thinking about making a difference, trying to make something positive out of it.
Matt's inspiration was very infectious, whether that was with cooking on MasterChef, his interest in nutrition, or his social media presence with his running.
He has inspired so many different types of people.
I've been quite busy planning stuff that he was meant to be doing, just to commemorate him and honour the things he set out to do.
He was part of a UK tour that he was doing himself, visiting different areas of the UK.
He was going to have a pop-up restaurant in Leeds at the end of May.
There were six of us from MasterChef that were doing pop-ups together, and we are still going to do that event.
All the proceeds are going to the youth charity the Brathay Trust, which Matt was raising money for in the London Marathon.
On Sunday I will be running the last 3.7 miles of the marathon with thousands of others in honour of Matt.
It started off as a low-key thing I organised for local runners from Cumbria and the Lake District where Matt was from.
Now it's taken off and it's more like a national event that runners from across the country have pledged to do.
Matt's original target on Sunday was £2,500, but now his JustGiving page has collected more than £250,000 for the Brathay Trust.
Today I was actually confirmed to run the London Marathon in 2019.

It will mark a year to the day since Matt died, and we will still be fundraising in his honour.
